An online sprint to ship AI-powered solutions
The AI Buildathon is a two-week, fully online innovation sprint for University of Kelaniya students. Throughout the event, you'll explore modern tools, collaborate in small teams, and build a working prototype that solves real-world problems across any industry. Whether it's a video generator, mobile app, enterprise system, or public platform, if technology is at its core, it belongs here.

Conducted entirely online with mentorship workshops.

Build alone or collaborate in groups of up to three.
The three developer tools you will master
Leverage official Alibaba Cloud developer suites to write code, design agent actions, and compile API endpoints.
Qoder
Agentic IDEAn AI-native developer portal, CLI interface, and JetBrains utility. Write, refactor, and test applications securely using Quest Mode, Experts engine, and spec-driven structures.
QoderWork
Desktop AI AgentAutomate desktop and code tasks on the fly. Plan, execute, edit files, script browsers, and coordinate modular workflows in an isolated sandbox tailored for multi-step task resolution.
MuleRun
AI Workflow RuntimeInstantly run, scale, and publish workflow networks. Connect complex APIs, models, databases, and structured inputs into robust, shareable environments.
Three-Week Roadmap & Key Dates
Registration Opens
- Portal officially live for form entries and account creations
- Define team roster (1-3 members)
Registration Deadline
- Roster locks. No new profiles or members accepted after midnight
- Workspace and tooling credentials dispatched
Hackathon Kick-Off Session (2 Hr)
- Official Alibaba Cloud introductory seminar
- Training labs on Qoder, QoderWork & MuleRun
Submission Window Open (2 Weeks)
- Build models, compile source repo, record walk-through demo video
- Direct mentorship check-ins with Alibaba experts
Evaluation & Final Pitching Session
- Top 5-8 finalist teams announced
- Live pitching presentation (Video conference / physical auditorium)
